A 62-year-old man felt a “pins and needles” sensation in his hands. He experienced trouble in walking, severe joint pain, and developed shortness of breath. He seriously suffered from vitamin B12 deficiency.  This case study has been published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

Worse scenarios include deep depression, delusions, paranoia and memory loss.

Vitamin B12 is required to maintain optimum brain health and production of red blood cells. Low levels of vitamin B12 can lead to serious brain disorder. If you want to stay active by keeping a healthy brain function, then ensure you’re getting enough vitamin B12 through healthy diet and supplementation.

Eat Food Sources Rich in Vitamin B12

Jumpstart your diet by adding vitamin B12-rich foods to your meals. It’s naturally found in animal products like fish, meat, eggs and dairy products. If you’re a vegan, that’s a red flag for deficiency since vitamin B12 doesn’t normally occur in plant foods. We recommend vegans to take vitamin B12 supplements to avoid deficiency.

Other good dietary resources of vitamin B12 are:

  • Pork
  • Beef
  • Ham
  • Poultry
  • Lamb
  • Tuna
  • Milk, cheese and yogurt

These food products help lower your cholesterol levels to support a healthy heart.

Take Vitamin B12 Supplements

Methylcobalamin is a form of Vitamin B12. It can be used as an effective pain reliever, reducing burning pain and tingling sensations. It also helps alleviate low back pain. This ingredient is useful for managing pain caused by mouth ulcers. Methylcobalamin definitely improves neuropathic pain and symptoms of neuralgia.

Vitamin B12 helps support daily energy production. It combats tiredness from work or activities that keep you busy and stressed the whole day.

Do you have sleeping trouble and go to bed past 12 midnight, waking up several times throughout the night? Cyanocobalamin improves your sleeping patterns. It’s a form of vitamin B12 that maintains good metabolism, supporting stomach and intestine problems.

Vitamin B12 also repairs and maintains cell formation, reducing risks of having sickle cell anaemia. It also supports energy production and healthy brain, so if you’re feeling easily fatigued because of a demanding lifestyle, then this supplement can improve your overall stamina to withstand heavy work pressure.
